Kevin Murphy

Kevin is Faduda's Keyboard and Clarinet player and has composed a number of songs with singer Paul Herron.

Kevin graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama only to immerse himself in the world and roots music scene in London. As a founding member of the ground breaking group Orbestra he recorded the album Transdanubian Swineherd’s Music produced by the legendary Joe Boyd. With Orbestra Kevin performed in festivals and venues all over the world including the Salzburg Festival, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Edinburgh Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Istanbul Festival and the QEH and Purcell Room, London. Before returning to his native Derry, Kevin alongside Sarah also spent many years working with the flamenco guitar virtuoso Juan Martin. A particular highlight was the Musica Alhambra project inspired by the Moorish roots of flamenco music. In April 2011 he reunited with Juan’s flamenco group for a sell out performance in the National Concert Hall, Dublin.

Married to Sarah, Kevin has worked extensively with her across a number of groups.
